How we handle what you send
meyergym.com has no ads, no tracking cookies and no accounts. The only time it collects anything about you is when you share something with the Fan Section: a memory, a photo or a piece of history. This page says exactly what, why, and for how long.
Just visiting
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't follow you to other sites. Like every website, the servers that send you the pages see your IP address; they don't keep a profile of you.
On the tour, pressing “Listen live” at the I 105.3 stop plays the station's stream straight from Live365, which sees your IP address the way any stream does. Nothing plays, and nothing is sent to Live365, until you press it.
When you share something
| What | Why | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Your memory, or your photo and its caption, your years at the gym and how you were there | To show on the wall | Everyone, once a moderator approves it |
| A piece of history: its story, its files, how you'd like to be credited, and a phone number if you give one | To look into it, and to contact you if you said we may | Our moderators only. It's never put on the site as it is. If we'd like to use it, we'll ask you first and credit it the way you choose |
| Your name, shown the way you chose | To show with your memory | Everyone, once approved |
| Your name as you typed it | So a moderator can check the name shown | Our moderators |
| Your email address | To send you the confirm link, the take-down link, and a note when your memory is up | Our moderators. Never shown on the site |
| Your IP address | To stop one person flooding the wall, and to block someone after abuse | Our moderators, only if needed |
We never use your email for anything else: no newsletters, no marketing, and we never sell or share it. Our emails have no tracking pixels and their links aren't tracked.
Photos
Your phone or computer shrinks each photo before it's sent, and in doing so removes everything your camera saved in it, including where it was taken. We check that it's gone before we keep the photo. A real person looks at every photo before it goes up. Photos aren't sent to any outside service to be scanned.
Files you send with a piece of history are kept exactly as you sent them, because they're archive copies, and only our moderators can open them.
How long we keep it
- If you never click the confirm link, everything you sent is deleted after 48 hours.
- Your IP address is deleted after 90 days.
- If you take something down, its words, photos, files and your name are deleted at once. The bare record that you posted (your email and the date) is deleted 30 days later.
- If a moderator doesn't approve it, its photos are deleted at once and the rest after 30 days. We keep a fingerprint of a rejected photo for those 30 days, so the same photo can't simply be sent again.
- Anything on the wall, or a piece of history with us, stays until you take it down.
- The one exception: if something sent to us appears to be illegal, we may keep it, locked away where no one can see it, and report it to the authorities, along with the details of how it was sent (the email address, IP address and time). We keep it for as long as the law requires, and it can't be taken down in the meantime.
Taking it down
Every email we send you has a link that takes what you sent down at once, before or after it goes up, with no questions. If you've lost the email, Manage your posts sends you a new link to everything you've sent. Or write to privacy@meyergym.com and we'll do it for you.
Who helps us run it
- Cloudflare stores the Fan Section, its photos and files, and runs its “are you human” check (Turnstile), in the United States.
- Resend sends our emails, from fans@meyergym.com.
They handle your information only to provide those services to us.
Age
You must be 13 or older to share with the Fan Section. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us something, write to us and we'll delete it.
